It has come to my attention that a bunch of you are planning on building your own computer. Now you guys have been asking "Hey IN, is this build good" every time. So to give you guys an idea on how this works, I will be posting Cookie cutter builds, my own build and some how to's. I know I am not the only computer savvy person in this forum, so feel free to add/change items. I'll gladly add them into this post. (Also for anyone who does not know what a cookie cutter build is, it is basically a "Common build")
Now to begin, we have my own build. This is my first desktop. I build it myself, however the part selection was mostly other people. For example,
/r/Buildapc is incredibly helpful. Just remember to read the rules in the side bar on the right. Speaking about the side bar, there are many more Subreddits that you can ask for help.
Click the image to go to the PartPicker websiteNow as you can see this is pretty simple, however even tho it is simple, it plays every game currently on the market on at least High, with some solid frames per second.
The CPU is the not the best you can have, the i7 is obviously, but the i7 is not needed for any games per se. So the i5 is a good go.
The motherboard, ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 is one of the best, it is comes with 3.0 USB ports, an information screen, an HDMI port, an Ethernet input and 4 RAM slots it obviously has much more, but I'm just naming the important things.
Then the RAM, there is nothing special about mine, it's just 8GB, this is good if you are not planning on rendering anything, and with that I mean Art, Music and Video's. I suggest getting 2 8GB sticks if you have any artistic hobbies.
Then the storage. Don't get an SSD if you don't know how this thing works. Google about it if you are planning on getting one. Also consult
this webpage. If you know how they work, get one. But only put your OS on it, so I suggest getting at least a 60GB one. Basically the one bad thing I can warn you about is that unlike HDD's it has a limited amount of "rotaries". Just Google it. Get at least a 1TB HDD.
Now for the videocard. I love Nvidia so I won't use anything but them. The 660Ti is amazing, however not the best, the 680
is was the best on the market, if you have the cash, get that one. However the 660Ti is more than enough you need for the games currently on the market. This video card comes with a bridge, which means you can buy another 660Ti and connect them.
That's my build. For a quick benchmark overview, click

Now, for all the cookie cutter builds, these are fairly simple. Also as a reminder I did not select the parts for these CC builds. The awesome people at
/r/Buildapcforme did. (OC means Over Clocked)

Now, when you get all the parts you ordered, it is time to build.
Here are some videos on YouTube made by NewEgg that will tutor you on how to build PC's. I watched these while building mine, and they helped me out a lot.

This is pretty much all you need! Not as hard as you thought, huh?
Thanks for reading, this is no copypasta and I spend a good 30 minute typing this out. I am going to do more, my next writing will be on how to Port-Forward and how to change your NAT type. You may also suggest anything if you need help!
