I really love the Mass Effect series. I feel that the biggest leg up they have other other RPGs is the system that will remember your choices from the last games in the series.
Frankly, I believe that this adds a level of immersion that other RPGs can't really hold a candle to. It makes the experience completely different for each person that plays, which is a massive achievement for an RPG.
